Follow these easy steps below to set up your Internet Explorer, and Outlook Express using the Internet Connection Wizard.

1.  Click on the
Start button on the lower left- hand corner of your desktop. Select the Control Panel from the Pop-up window.  In the Control Panel, on the top left-hand side, click on Switch to Classic View. Double click on the Internet Options icon.

2.  On the
General folder tab delete the Home Page Address that is listed and enter http://www.surfglobal.net in its place and click on the Apply button at the bottom of the screen.

3.  Click on the
Connections folder tab up top and then click on the Setup... button to start the New Internet Connection Wizard.

4.  The first screen should be an introductory screen. Click on
Next.

5.  Select the top option,
Connect to the Internet.  Click on Next.

6.  Select the center option,
Setup My Connection Manually. Click on Next.

7.  Select the top option, Connect Using a Dialup Modem.  Click on Next.

8.  Enter GlobalNet for the
ISP Name. Click on Next.

9.  Enter GlobalNet's Local Access Number for your area in the
Telephone Number Field. Put in exactly the number you will need to dial. For example, if you need to dial the area code for a local number, add in the area code and then the number. Click on Next.

10.  Enter your
GlobalNet User name and Password you selected when you signed up for your account.  These should be entered all in lowercase letters, no spaces, or punctuation.  Your user name is the same as your email address (i.e. username@surfglobal.net). Retype your password in the Confirm Password box.  Click on Next.

11.  The last screen should be Completing the New Connection Wizard. Do Not put a
check in the check box in the middle to Add a Shortcut to your desktop.  Click on Finish.

12.  Close any windows that are open by clicking on the small
X in the upper right hand corner of each window. Click on Start. Select All Programs from the pop-up window. From this menu, select Outlook Express.

13.  If you have never been in here, an Internet Connection Wizard screen will appear. (If this screen appears, please go to step #16.)

14.  If the Internet Connection Wizard does not appear, click on Tools at the top of the page. Click on Accounts located at the bottom of the menu. Then click once on the Mail tab in the Internet Accounts window.

15.  Click on Add on the right hand side. Click on Mail.

16.  Enter your full name in the Display name field.  Click on Next.

17.  Enter your GlobalNet E-mail address.  This should be your username@surfglobal.net.  Click on Next.

18.  At the top you should have
POP3 selected for your incoming mail server.  Go down to the next line and enter mail.surfglobal.net for the Incoming mail(POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) server.  Go down to the next line and enter mail.surfglobal.net for the Outgoing mail(SMTP) server.  Click on Next.

19.  Enter your GlobalNet user name in the
Account name field and your password in the Password field.  Click on Next.

20.  Click on
Finish. Congratulations you are all set to connect to the Internet.

21.  To connect to the Internet immediately, close all windows that are open. Double left click on the GlobalNet Icon on your desktop. Click on Dial. Once you are connected. You can browse the web using Internet Explorer or use your email through Outlook Express.
