Follow these easy steps below to set up Outlook Express 4 (Macintosh) for email.
1. In
Outlook Express, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.
2. A
window will appear, listing the mail, news and directory service accounts
you have already setup. Click the button marked New
Account.

3. In
the Account name box, enter GlobalNet Mail.
Under Account type, the button beside POP
should be pressed in, click OK to continue.

4. In
the Full name box, enter in your first and last name.
5. Enter
in your E-mail address, ie: johndoe@surfglobal.net then
click Next to continue:
6. The
SMTP server should be set to mail.surfglobal.net
7. Your account ID should be set to your username,
ie: johndoe@surfglobal.net
8. The POP server should be set to mail.surfglobal.net
9. Your password is your GlobalNet
password which
you chose at the time of signup.
* If
you want your password to be saved for you every time you check your email
then put a checkmark the box beside Save password; however, if there are
other people who have access
to your computer then you might consider not checking it to increase your
security.
10. Click
on the tab labelled Advanced. If you access
your e-mail from more than one location, or if you wish to keep a copy
on the server, check the box
next to Leave a copy of messages on server. (This option is ussually not
selected unless you really need to keep a copy on the server.)

11. Click
OK and then click OK on
next window. Outlook Express is now setup for use with GlobalNet.
