Follow these easy steps below to set up Outlook Express 4 (Macintosh) for email.

1.
In Outlook Express, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences.

2. A window will appear, listing the mail, news and directory service accounts you have already setup. Click the button marked New Account.

3. In the Account name box, enter GlobalNet Mail. Under Account type, the button beside POP should be pressed in, click OK to continue.

4. In the Full name box, enter in your first and last name.

5. Enter in your E-mail address, ie: johndoe@surfglobal.net then click Next to continue:

6. The SMTP server should be set to mail.surfglobal.net

7. Your account ID should be set to your username, ie: johndoe@surfglobal.net

8. The POP server should be set to mail.surfglobal.net

9. Your password is your GlobalNet password which you chose at the time of signup.

     * If you want your password to be saved for you every time you check your email then put a checkmark the box beside Save password; however, if there are other people who have access to your computer then you might consider not checking it to increase your security.

10. Click on the tab labelled Advanced. If you access your e-mail from more than one location, or if you wish to keep a copy on the server, check the box next to Leave a copy of messages on server. (This option is ussually not selected unless you really need to keep a copy on the server.)

11. Click OK and then click OK on next window. Outlook Express is now setup for use with GlobalNet.
